The interventions and techniques we use include:
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)
Neuro-Linguistic Programming, referred to as NLP, is a model about patterns of behaviour, thoughts and experiences. NLP facilitates improving your experience, mapping how you travel from where you are now, to where you want to be. As the name suggests it is about how your neurology (e.g. brain) is programmed in relation to the way you use language, and as neuroscience suggests, how this can be reprogrammed. NLP draws on Behavioural Psychology, Hypnosis, Gestalt- and Family therapy.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
Emotional Freedom Techniques, often referred to as EFT, is a method of bringing together the Chinese Meridian/Energy-Lines system (used e.g. in acupuncture) and western psychology. Instead of stimulating the meridian points with needles, with EFT you use your own fingertips to tap on the points whilst talking about the symptom, emotion or experience you are having. It’s like tuning together two instruments to bring your whole system into balance. EFT is a field within Energy Psychology.
Clinical Hypnosis or Hypnotherapy uses methods where you gently close your eyes to more easily access your subconscious with the help of your practitioner. Closed eye protocols facilitate using your own imagination and knowledge to help you help yourself. This method helps to release past trauma and decondition established habits. It is invaluable to reduce experiences such as stress, tension and blood pressure and is consistently helpful in addressing symptoms like IBS and pain.
Whether in sport, business and health, we know that in order to achieve your goals you need a coach who consistently holds the focus on your highest potential, fundamentally believes in you and can guide you through the terrain that you are travelling, knowing the issues and pitfalls en-route. Coaching is about spotting opportunities for improvements as well as bearing in mind how far you have already travelled, reminding you to recognise your qualities, skills and achievements so far.
Film therapy is all about using the magic of filmmaking to access your own imagination and insight to understand aspects of you and your life in more vivid detail. Whether it’s by using films to support you to access feelings like motivation (e.g. Coach Carter) or sadness (e.g. Good Will Hunting) or by creating your own film, complete with trailer and poster and an important title, film therapy is an emerging way of working with you and your experiences.
Meditation and mindfulness
Meditation and mindfulness are practices that focus on increasing your awareness of your own experience and deepening your understanding of how and why you perceive the world as you do. Developing the skill of observing and witnessing your own experience gives you precious access to how you function in your everyday. Meditation and Mindfulness emphasise developing your concentration skills and your ability to stay present even with challenging and demanding experiences.
