N.B. We aren’t currently running workshops because of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. We hope to offer them again once the situation has returned to some normality.
Respond better to what life throws at you. Learn how to build your own First Aid Kit for Feelings and reclaim you!
Struggling with feelings like stress, pain, fatigue, anxiety? Overwhelmed by your feelings?
What’s a First Aid (and Kit) for Feelings?
You might have first aid kit at home, packed with plasters, paracetamol, bandages and so on. A First Aid Kit for Feelings works in exactly the same way. However, it’s packed with tools, tips and things that help you respond to intense emotions and symptoms.
When you are in a heightened state, the rational and resourceful part of your brain shuts down. This impairs your ability to think resourcefully and leads to unhelpful decisions and difficult feelings.
Learning the ABC First Aid for Feelings technique means you’ve got a tool to help you get your resourceful thinking back. Just like with medical ABC First Aid (airways – breathing – circulation) you can use it wherever and whenever you are struggling. You can also use it to help others. You can read more about this technique in our blog here.
You’ll also learn how to create a pre-prepared First Aid Kit for Feelings. Like a medical First Aid Kit this helps you respond to difficult feelings in a more helpful way.
It’s made up of things that are important to you, like movies and photos. It also includes personalised strategies to help you reduce the intensity of symptoms. This minimises the risk of you responding to your emotions, symptoms and others in a way that might be destructive or damaging.

This one day training teaches you what happens when you are in a heightened state and the rational and resourceful part of your brain shuts down. You’ll start to create your own individual First Aid Kit for Feelings and learn how to shift the inner dialogue that takes place in your head from unhelpful to helpful.
- The training runs 10am – 4:30pm with a break for lunch
- The group size is 12-15 people
- We recognise the commitment you are making and want to reassure you that if this doesn’t work for you, we will refund your fee in full.
